Your diary, your data.
Here is what InstantFork saves and how your information is used.
Your account and diary
When you sign in with Google, InstantFork receives your account identifier, name, and email. Your meals, nutrition estimates, goals, hydration entries, and recipe favorites are saved using Firebase and associated with your account. Your diary is private to your account.
Your optional personal plan
To personalize your starting targets, you can share your age, height, weight, the sex used by the calculation, activity level, and reason for using InstantFork. These details and your measurement preferences are saved privately with your Firebase account. You can skip setup, leave body details out, or update your profile in Goals & account. General guidance mode records that preference without storing a medical condition or the reason you selected it.
Calculated targets are estimates for eligible adults, not a diagnosis or a precise prescription. Your profile is included when you export your diary and removed when you delete your account.
Photos and AI guidance
When you request a scan, your meal photo is sent to OpenAI to estimate the foods and nutrients shown. A smaller image can be saved with the meal in your diary. Only scan food photos you are comfortable sharing for this purpose.
When you ask the AI diary guide a question, your question, saved nutrition goals, meal names and nutrition values for the selected day and preceding six days, and hydration entries are sent to OpenAI to generate an answer. When you have a personal profile, the request also includes your goal, activity category, target source, and broad guidance flags such as adult or under 18 and general guidance mode. It excludes your saved age, height, weight, sex, account name, email, account identifier, and meal photos. Avoid including personal details you do not want to share in your question or meal names.
Guide answers are kept in the current app session and are not saved to your diary or browser storage. AI requests disable OpenAI response storage; OpenAI may retain service records under its data policies. The demo guide uses local example responses and does not send its questions or diary data to OpenAI.
Google, Firebase, and OpenAI process information to provide sign-in, storage, and analysis under their own service terms and privacy policies.
Payments and subscriptions
Premium checkout and billing management are hosted by Stripe. Payment details are entered directly with Stripe; InstantFork does not store your full card number. Your account identifier links your Stripe customer and subscription to InstantFork. We keep subscription identifiers, plan status, renewal or cancellation dates, and usage counts to provide your paid features and manage billing.
We do not send your meal diary, food photos, body measurements, or diary-guide questions to Stripe. Stripe handles payment and billing information under its Privacy policy. Account deletion cancels active subscriptions. Minimal billing records may remain to handle invoices, disputes, refunds, and required financial recordkeeping; these records do not contain your nutrition diary.
The demo and this browser
The demo uses example meals and stores changes in this browser. It does not create an account or sync a diary across devices. Browser storage also remembers your sign-in on this device. Your account diary is loaded from Firebase when you sign in.
Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand visits, pages viewed, and basic browser, device, and approximate location statistics. Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits and browser sessions. Google processes this information under its privacy policy.
We do not send meal entries, photos, diary guide questions or answers, personal profile details, email addresses, or Firebase account identifiers as Analytics events. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled.
Exporting and deleting your data
Use Goals & account to export your diary or delete your account. Deleting an account removes its saved diary and sign-in account. Minimal account identifier records used to enforce AI usage limits and prevent abuse may remain after deletion; they do not contain your meal diary.
You can clear demo data through your browser’s site storage settings. Download an export before deleting data you want to keep.
Service records
InstantFork keeps AI usage counts and basic service records to enforce limits, protect accounts, and resolve failures. Avoid including personal information in food photos or meal names that is unnecessary for your diary.
