Start with your reason

Choose weight loss, getting lean, building muscle, staying balanced, or better eating habits. Optional age, height, weight, calculation sex, and activity details can create estimated adult starting targets. Review the explanation before applying them, or keep your own targets.

Setup is optional, and you can update your profile in Goals & account. Body details stay private to your account. The AI diary guide uses your goal and activity for more relevant suggestions without receiving your saved body measurements.

A quicker way to log your meals

Open Add meal to scan a photo, enter known nutrition manually, search USDA foods, or find a recent meal to log again. Reusing an entry lets you review its serving and nutrition before adding it to the selected diary date.

Each entry belongs to a diary date and a meal category: breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack. Use the week strip on Today to switch days. Food diary holds the complete entries with search, category filters, editing, and reuse. Check the date before adding a meal to a previous day.

A dated food reference, with portions you choose

Search USDA foods uses FoodData Central Foundation Foods from the April 2026 download. Choose the food and preparation that match what you ate, then enter grams of the edible portion. Reference values for 100 g scale to your chosen amount, and each result links to its USDA record.

This is a dated snapshot. It does not claim live updates or measure your particular meal. Raw, cooked, and drained foods can have different values. Missing calories or core macros prevent logging that record; missing fiber remains unrecorded. Use manual entry when you have known values from a label or recipe.

Open a saved meal's Nutrition details & source to see its reported fiber and nutrition source. USDA entries also show the reference release, food weight, and source link. Editing nutrition marks the reference as edited; changing the food name removes the reference association.

See what you have logged

Today shows calories remaining inside a goal ring, with logged calories and your target alongside. If logged calories exceed the goal, the figure shows how far above it they are. Protein, carbs, and fat bars show logged grams beside their targets.

Open Progress to chart calories, protein, carbs, fat, or water over a day, week, or month. Select a chart day to inspect its recorded value and open its diary. A dash marks a day without entries, while a recorded zero stays visible. The headline average uses days with meals or water records, and future days are excluded.

Understand these numbers explains period totals, averages, diary coverage, meal sources, and reported fiber. The dashed goal line uses your current saved goal, including on past dates. Totals change when you add, edit, or remove a meal; missing entries leave an incomplete view of what you ate.

Keep water and goals close by

Record water in 250 ml glasses alongside the day's meals. In Goals & account, edit your calorie, protein, carbohydrate, fat, and water targets. Without a suitable personal estimate, the app keeps reference values or your chosen targets. Neither estimates nor defaults replace an individual nutrition assessment.

Recipe examples provide meal ideas, and favorites keep the examples you like easy to find. Choose Ask your diary in the Today or Food diary header when you want the AI nutrition guide to help explain your saved entries.

A few things to know

Questions about your daily diary

Will my diary work on another device?

With Google sign-in, your account diary is saved using Firebase and loads when you sign in on another device. Demo changes stay in the browser where you made them.

Can I change my daily goals?

Yes. Open Goals & account to edit your nutrition and hydration targets. Use goals that are appropriate for you; the app's defaults are starting values.

Does food lookup measure my meal?

No. It scales the selected USDA food's reference values using your entered weight. Match the food and preparation, check the amount, and review the result. The April 2026 catalog is a dated snapshot, and individual foods can vary.

Can I export or delete my diary?

Goals & account includes a diary export and account deletion. Export information you want to keep before deleting. The privacy page describes what deletion removes and the minimal security records retained.
